About

Best Worst Insurance compares insurance products on what the documents and the filings actually say — and names the worst as readily as the best.

What we publish

Two markets so far. In India, professional indemnity cover for doctors and health insurance for senior citizens, read from filed policy wordings, prospectuses and Customer Information Sheets. In the United States, individual marketplace health plans, priced from the CMS Public Use Files rather than from any carrier’s own summary. Every figure carries a numbered source, and the US tables can be downloaded in full as CSVs so anyone can check the arithmetic themselves.

How we are funded

We sell no insurance. We take no commission, hold no carrier panel, run no referral or affiliate links, and accept no paid placement. No insurer has been given sight of a verdict before publication, and no insurer can pay to appear, to be ranked differently, or to be left out. There are no advertisements and no lead-capture forms on this site.

That is unusual in this category and it is the reason to read us rather than a comparison site: a business that earns a commission on the policy it recommends cannot tell you the cheapest plan is the one it does not sell.

When we are wrong

Material errors are corrected, dated and logged in public rather than quietly edited away. The policy and the full log are on the corrections page, and the method behind every comparison is on the methodology page.
